If it is linked in a new way, then it will work even if it is not linked with the original smartphone. Calls and chats will be end-to-end encrypted on all devices at the same time.
According to GSM Arena, the media can work up to 14 days after being disconnected from the linked device. However, even if this opportunity is in iOS, users will not be able to delete any message from the linked device.No tablet or any other smartphone from iOS can be connected in this way.
