How to move WhatsApp chat backup from iPhone to Android


 

WhatsApp Chat migration feature between iPhone and Android is now available. Google mentioned in its official blog post that new Android smartphones running the Android 12 operating system will support the feature and allow users to transfer their Chat backup from iPhone to Android effortlessly.


Google has also specified that smartphone manufacturers are free to integrate this feature with Android 12 updates for their smartphones. So, it is possible that the existing smartphones will also receive this feature in future.


Meanwhile, if you are wondering how to transfer WhatsApp chats from iPhone to Android, here are the steps you need to follow:


According to Google’s official blog post, the process is very simple. All users need to do is connect the two smartphones via cable and WhatsApp Chat will transfer. Just ensure that the Android smartphone is either new or has been factory reset before initiating the process.


1. Start with setting up the new Android device




2. Then, take a USB Type-C to Lightning cable and connect the two smartphones




3. When prompted, scan the QR code on the iPhone to launch WhatsApp and transfer all the conversations and media on the new Android device.


In case, the QR scan does not work or any other issue, head to Settings -> Chats -> Move chats to Android on your iPhone and then scan the QR code to initiate the process.
