Bhutan wants to take bandwidth-digital master trainer from Bangladesh

Bhutan has expressed interest in getting a master trainer in graphics design and multimedia from Bangladesh to implement internet bandwidth and 'Build Bhutan' project. The Bhutanese government expressed interest in a courtesy call on Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday (November 3rd).
During the meeting, they discussed various issues of mutual interest, especially the continuation of the Bhutanese Prime Minister's proposal to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the import of Internet bandwidth. The proposal was made by the Prime Minister of Bhutan during his visit to Bangladesh last March. Convenient rates of bandwidth were also discussed at the meeting. The issue of Bhutan-India-Bangladesh getting favorable transmission rates was also discussed during the meeting.
The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications described the existing excellent friendly relations between Bangladesh and Bhutan as very significant and historic. He highlighted Bhutan's cooperation in the great war of liberation and its role as the first country to recognize independent Bangladesh and expressed his gratitude to Bhutan.
Mustafa Jabbar said, "We have brought digital connectivity to every union in the country. As a continuation of the groundbreaking program adopted by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 1996 to make mobile phones accessible to the general public, 160 million mobile SIMs are being used in the country. The country's mobile phone factories are able to meet 80 percent of the demand for mobile sets. We are producing and exporting Five-G mobile sets. '
The Minister pledged to provide all possible technical assistance for the implementation of the 'Build Bhutan' program.
BTCL's managing director Dr. Rafiqul Matin, Mashiur Rahman, Managing Director, Submarine Cable Company Limited and Sabab Bin Ahmed, Director, Ministry of External Affairs were present.
