Apple iOS 15.1 rolls out for iPhone users: New features, how to install, compatible devices and more
Apple has rolled out the iOS 15.1 update for eligible iPhones. The update was announced at the Unleashed event held recently (October 18) where the company launched the new MacBook Pro and AirPods. The update has been in the works for the past few weeks and the beta version available for the developers. This is the first major update since Apple launched the 2021 edition of its mobile operating system iOS, iOS 15. Here is everything you need to know about iOS 15.1.
iOS 15.1: Eligible devices
All Apple iPhone models that were eligible for iOS 15 can install the latest update. This means iPhone models launched after 2015 and above iPhone 6S can download and install iOS 15.1.

Usually, Apple iPhones get a notification whenever a new update is available. If you miss out on that, you can go to Settings > General > Software Update > Download and Install.
New feature in iOS 15.1: SharePlay
The update brings in the SharPlay feature that was first proposed by the company when the operating system was unveiled at WWDC in June. The feature gives users the ability to stream movies, TV, music and other media using FaceTime. When a user plays media, playback immediately starts for the whole group at the same time.

With iOS 15.1, Apple iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max users can record the video in the ProRes codec. This feature protects the image quality in videos by minimising the compression amount of your videos.

With the previous version of iOS 15, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max automatically switched from the main camera to the ultrawide camera when moved close to any object, enabling macro mode. Now, the company has added a toggle to turn it off.

New pre-built actions let you overlay text on images or gifs, plus a new collection of games lets you pass the time with Siri.
